Subroto Cup : ANFA Academy enters quarter-finals

ANFA Academy U-15 has advanced to the quarter-final round of the ongoing 55th Subroto International Cup in India.

ANFA Academy held on a 3-3 draw with the Mizoram at Dr. Amdhekar Stadium in the last group stage match on 13th October to take the top place in a Group G. They will take on the Group H winners Brazil’s Colegio Estadul Santo Anotoni on Thursday.

In the interesting battle between ANFA Academy and Mizoram, at first Manish Karki of Nepali side netted the ball to take the lead but Mizrom leveled the score in the 20th minutes.

The second half started with the early goal of the Abhishek Rijan in the sixth minute and Prejen Tamang added another to take the 3-1 lead against the Mizoram team. Latter Mizoram found the back of the net in the 67th and 70th minutes and the match was ended as a 3-3 draw.

ANFA Academy were grouped in a Group G along with Delhi, Tripura and Mizoram.

The total of 32 teams are competing in the championship. Besides, the teams from India, there are a team each from Ukraine, Nepal , Indonesia, Brazil and Bangladesh.
