German International and Arsenal Midfielder Mesut Ozil has been sent for a precautionary MRI Scan from National Team camp.
Mesut Ozil has been called up into the National Camp for the upcoming EURO 2016 Qualifiers but has failed to report in training due to injury concerns. He has been sent to hospital for scans despite travelling with the team. Ozil played full 90 minutes in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal and had a torrid time as his team failed to put a single shot on target throughout the match.
Ozil has appeared in nine matches and scored only one goal this season with an assist. He has been deployed on left side of midfield in most of the matches which is not considered as his natural position. The 25-year old has failed to live upto the expectations of fans.
Ozil’s best performance this season came against Aston Villa at Villa Park as Arsenal thumped Villa 3-0 as Ozil scored one and created one goal in the victory. Arsene Wenger deployed Ozil in his preferred role and the game went well for the German International. Ozil has started 4 games in left side and two games in right while he has played in deeper role in one occasion.
Ozil has maintained to keep 88.6% passing accuracy and averages 2.5 key passes per game. Ozil has been fouled 7 times and dispossessed 8 times throughout the season. He has made seven tackles and commited just one fouls in the process with 4 interceptions to his account. With new signing Alexis Sanchez preferred in midfield instead of attack, his dip in form might result in degradation to bench in anytime.
Germany will visit Poland on Saturday and then return back to their native country to play their qualifier against Republic of Ireland. Germany won their first Euro Qualifier last month after Thomas Muller scored a late goal for the World Champions.
