NPC Coach Birat Krishna Shrestha: “The players could not play as per the tactics”

NPC Coach Birat Krishna Shrestha said that the players did not play as per his tactics and faced the loss.

Nepal Police Club lost out to Tribhuwan Army Club by 2-0 in ANFA Cup Knockout Football Tournament 2071 today. Nawayug Shrestha and Deepak Gurung scored for Nepal Army side, who now advance into the semifinals of the tournament.

‘The players were poor on the ball and off the ball. You don’t expect to win the match by playing this kind of game.”, said Shrestha. Birat also pointed out that Army got the goals from lucky breaks and were in no position to score when they did. Shrestha however admired the attacking strength of Army and said they could have scored more if they had been clinical in final third.

“Both Police and Army lacked in-the-ball tactics today. There was no effort from players off the ball and Army took the chances when it came.”, Shrestha ended.
