Nepal Army club defeats Nepal Police club 2-0 to advance to the semifinals of the ongoing ANFA cup tournament played at Dasarath Rangashala.

Nepal Army Club

Nawyug Shrestha scored in the first half to provide Army the led while Deepak Gurung doubled in the second half to make the final score 2-0 in Army’s favor.

Although Nepal Police Club had the first say with a shot, the 30 yards long ranger from right back Ajit Bhandari went just over the cross bar managing some hopes to the Police club fans.

Police club played ample of miss passes in the game, loosing out ball possession very easily in the game. As a result, they were punished with a 33rd minute goal which Nawyug Shrestha just flicked in a cross to put Army ahead in the game.

Police Club’s effort to come back in the game remained rather ambiguous as they failed to create any good moves, culprit of too many miss passes in the game.

The hopes shattered for the cops when Deepak Gurung tapped an easy ball in a corner delivered by the first goal scorer Nawyug Shrestha letting only 18 minutes of regulation time for the cops to make something happen.

Although Police could have been right back in the game, however Jumanu did well to dribble past goalkeeper but his dilemma kept him from scoring in an empty from the net. He tried to keep the hold on the ball but Army defenders stopped him right away as Police club shared a bitter 2-0 loss.
