Germany and USA play each other in final fixture of Group G Match in FIFA World Cup 2014
In the last five meetings between the teams, USA has managed one victory while Germany have won four matches. Germany have scored 14 goals in the process while USA have scored just half of that amount. The recent match between the teams was played just an year ago when USA were victorious by 4-3. Clint Demsey, who now is skipper of the team scored a brace to put his team in winning position.
USA are unbeaten in this tournament like their opponents Germany and a draw will see them both through. USA won the first match against Ghana by 2-1 after John Brooks scored the winner off a header just five minutes before the end of regulation time. They were held on to a 2-2- draw by late equalizer against Portugal.
Germany won their first match against Portugal by 4-0 after Thomas Muller scored his first international hat trick. The match was marred by sending off to Pepe who seemed to headbutt Muller. Germany however were held to a 2-2- draw by Ghana, who have slim chances of getting into the next round.
Team News:
Jozy Altidore might start the game after starting on bench against Portugal. Geoff Cameron will keep his place in the team despite his error in the goal against Portugal.
Jerome Boateng is injured and will be replaced by Shkodran Mustafi in the right back position. Sami Khedira might be replaced by Bastaina Schweinsteiger, who i snow fit to start the match. Despite netting a goal in draw against Ghana, Klose might start from bench yet again.
