Portugal vs Ghana : Preview and Probable Lineup

Nani of Portugal

This is the first meeting between the sides in an international match and the match has a lot of importance. Either team needs a win if they are to have any chance to progress to the next round. However, it will also depend upon the result of other match.

Portugal lost their first match against Germany by 4-0 after Thomas Muller scored first hat-trick of the tournament and his career. Pepe was sent off in that match and missed his team’s 2-2 draw against United States of America. Varela scored a last minute equalizer to salvage a point for his team.

Ghana on the other hand are on a high after a 2-2 draw against Germany. They were leading the match until Miroslav Klose scored record breaking goal to put the match on level. They lost their first match of the group against USA by 2-1.

Sulley Muntari is suspended after two bookings in pprevious matches and will be replaced by Emmanuel Badu in the center of the field. Kevin Prince Boateng has failed to impress and Jordan Ayew might come in for him in the lineup.
