Newly appointed Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has asked the club to sign German trio of Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The dutch manager who is in Brazil with his Holland National Team has asked Ed Woodward to work on the deals as he is busy with the national team. Van Gaal has worked in Germany with Bayern Munich and knows these players very well. However, the cost of these players will be a sting in the tale.
Mats Hummels is a star man at the Signal Iduna Park and it is not easy job to prize away their best player with rumors of their other players leaving too. But with the defensive backup they have, a big money move would help United to capture their top defensive target. Van Gaal is a long term admirer of the German International and was unable to use him while managing Bayern Munich. But the player has now established himself as one of the best in that position all over the world and the national team has big expectations from him this world cup too.
Thomas Muller on the other hand is rumored to be leaving German outfit for a new challenge. He has not fit in well as usual in Pep Guardiola’s game and will look to persuade is future elsewhere. Barcelona were rumored to be interested in the midfielder-cum forward but Manchester united also have been linked. Louis Van Gaal was the key figure in Muller’s career as he was brought up in the first team scene with Dutch manager and if the move is made, it will be very hard for Muller to not take it through.
Bastian Schweinsteiger is also rumored to be leaving the club. He has contract with the club till 2016 and with Pep Guadriola’s type of play not suiting him well, he will be looking for newer challenges. Players like Thiago Alacantra and Phillip Lahm have been flourishing in that position and if Van Gaal comes calling for the German international, it will give him a second thought on whether not to leave his boyhood club.
