Liverpool FC will take on Crystal Palace with the hopes still on to be crowned champions this season. Lets look tactics, formation and probable lineup Brendan Rodgers may field against Crystal Palace.

Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge is set to return in starting XI

Daniel Sturridge’s hamstring injury has kept his away from the starting lineup for last three matches, however the streak is expected to end as the England striker is set to get back to Rodgers’ first XI when Liverpool take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Similarly Jorden Henderson continues to serve his final ban as per being sent off against Manchester City which means Rodgers is likely to introduce Joe Allen in his role.

Liverpool conquered a 3-1 victory back at Anfield when Crystal Palace were newly promoted side to the Premier League under manager Ian Holloway. Relegation looked certain for the newly promoted side, however the scenario remains different for Palace under their new boss Tony Pulis. Brendan Rodgers will be taking the match under strong consideration given that a defeat means Liverpool would be realistically be out of the title race with 1 game remaining given that Chelsea and Manchester City both would be stronger challenger ahead of Liverpool.

Crystal Palace has been a difficult side with Pulis in charge, they have collected 39 points in their 24 matches conceding only 22, less than a goal per game.

Probable Line up and Formation

With Henderson’s absence, Rodgers is likely to pick Joe Allen, meanwhile Sturridge could get himself back to first eleven.

Liverpool XI – Mignolet; Flanagan, Skrtel, Sakho, Johnson ; Gerrard, Coutinho, Allen ; Sturridge, Suarez, Sterling

Although Gerrard saw himself forward after conceding a goal against Chelsea, Liverpool skipper has been good just ahead of the wall defensively. Meanwhile Allen and Coutinho could see themselves ahead adding some attacking options to the forward lines.
