Ncell Cup: NPC vs Sankata Club – Reviewing Group Stage Performances

Nepal Police Club will meet Group C runner ups CMG Sankata club in last quarterfinal match of Ncell cup on Tuesday. Let’s have review how they performed in group stages.

     

 

Nepal Police Club was drawn in easy group and  entered quarterfinals with 2 wins and a draw. Cops and Bouddha FC  both gained 7 points in this group, but  goal difference made them a group winner. Nepal Police Club managed to score 10 goals and conceded 4 goals in the group stage. They opened their Ncell Cup campaign with 6-2 win over Sarswoti Youth Club .  All though Sarswoti Youth club gave them tough fight in their first match, Nepal police club managed to score 6 goals against them and conceded 2 goals. In their second match they faced Boudha Club and Boudha stopped them in a draw. Boudha defenders didn’t gave any place for NPC’s ace striker Jumanu Rai in the match. Dipendra Paudel scored and Subin Shrestha scored each  goal for respective team in the match. NPC played with Jawlakhel in their last match and got comfortable victory over them. NPC defeated them by 3-1, they conceded early goal with the stunning goal from Raj Kumar Poudel but Managed to scored three goals later.

Sankata Club entered quarterfinal as runner ups of group c  with 2 wins and 1 loss in the tournament. They opened their first match with  1-0 victory over Himalayan Sherpa, Skipper Salyan Khadgi scored only goal from spot kick to bag clear 3 points. Sankata lost their second match with RCT, as they couldn’t hold the lead for two times, They were defeated by 3-2 from  RCT club. They faced bansbari club in their last match and got 1-0 surprising victory over them to grab 3 points . Kabbu Rai scored only  goal for them and proceed them to the quarterfinals.
