Within forty eight hours new era in Nepali football will start in the sponsorship of Ncell. This new era will start with the Ncell cup and the tournament winner will be awarded 1.5millions which will be the highest cash prize in the history of Nepali knockout tournament. Sixteen A Division teams will be fighting for the trophy and prize.
Here we are discussing who will haul the trophy. Most of the supporters will be predicting about NPC, MMC, HSC, Friends, and TSC winning the trophy.
Nepal Police Club: Undoubtly government departmental team is one of the major title threat for the other giants. Surprisingly they have been winning Knock out tournaments and League in last two years with very few national team stars. Bharat Khawas was one of the key player for them in last two seasons but his departure to arch rival another departmental team seems to be problem for the cops. Robin Shrestha has been declared fit for the tournament, he was left out of the national team for the Nehru cup due to ear injury. Jumanu Rai will be the key player for the cops in the tournament.
LH Manang Marshyangdi Club: This time Manang has young team then before and they will be hoping better result with the performance of talented young guns and powerful Africans. The team seems to be inexperienced after the departure of Sandeep Rai, Deepak Bhusal, Santosh Sahukhala and Nirajan Khadka and goalkeeper Bisal Shrestha is out due to knee injury. Manange won’t be happy with any other position than first. The arrival of Nirajan Malla, Bikash singh Chettri and experienced Nabin Nepaune has made the team strong. The front hit man Anil Gurung will be the key player for Manange in the tournament.
Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club: Sherpas started their A division campaign from last year since then they have been serious title challengers but their team seems to be weaker then last term after the departure of Jagjit Shrestha, National team captain Sagar Thapa and Nirajan Malla still there journey to quarters seems to be easy after being drawn in easy group with RCT, Sankata and Bansbari. They have signed interesting young stars this time with the likes of Hemant Gurung. Rupesh KC will be the key player for Sherpas in the tournament.
Three star club: This Lalitpur based club is most strongest team in the paper this time. They have maximum numbers of national team players after adding Santosh Sahukhala and Sandeep Rai in the roster. They have added several talented fresh ANFA productions in the team. Only major departure from the club is Bikash Singh Chettri to MMC. With the likes of Kiran, Biraj, Bijay, Santos, Sandeep, Anil Ojha and others Three Star seems to be stronger then ever. Without the doubt TSC is the favorite to win the trophy. The ever performing star in the blue jersey Santosh Sahukhala will be the key player for Three star.
NIB Friends Club: Once it was the top club in Nepal but in this decade they were comparatively weak comparing to other giants but this time they have signed their former stars in order to make their team strong. They have signed Nepali national team captain Sagar Thapa and midfield trio Deepak Bhusal, Nirajan Khadka and Jagjit Shrestha to make their team strong. With the quality signings Friends will be fighting for a title without doubt. Captain Sagar Thapa will be key player for the team in the tournament with his leadership quality.
