The Copa Del Rey Semifinal first leg will feature two giants of the Spanish Football as Real Madrid hosts Atletico Madrid in a match expected to be a great one.
Atletico Madrid did well to hammer Real Sociedad 4-0 in their La Liga match to get to the top of the La Liga table for the first time since 1996 as they are 3 points clear ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid in the league table. Atletico Madrid enjoyed the three points league when Barcelona and Real Madrid both lost their respective matches in a situation when all three teams were tied up in points, Barcelona only ahead in goal difference.
Atleico Madrid sidelined Athletic Bilbao 3-1 in aggregate in the quarter finals to enter the semifinals of the tournament. They registered a 1-0 clean sheet victory at their home leg while they won 1-2 at Bilbao’s home.
Real Madrid in the other hand defeated Espanyol 1-0 in both their leg to enter the semifinal. Benzema scored at the away leg while the 20 years old young Spainard Jese Ruiz scored at the home to confirm Real Madrid’s place in the semifinal.
The winner of the both legs in aggregate will face either of Barcelona or Real Sociedad that play in the other semifinal.
The Real Madrid boss expected both their star wingers Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale to start, Ronaldo was sent off against Athletic Bilbao, despite he might only miss the league matches, as they await the orders from the disciplinary committee.
Meanwhile Bale who missed the Bilbao match due to calf injury is expected to start as he is available for the Copa Del Rey semifinal clash. Bale who has missed his last two matches due to calf injury has only featured in 13 appearances for Madrid this season, despite he has been able to add 10 goals for them this season.
