Madhyapur stuns Nepal Army in tie breaker to become first team to advance to the Ncell cup semi finals.

Madhyapur-Wins Army

Madhyapur Youth Association makes their place in the semis as they defeat Army club on first quarter final match under great support. Nirajan Rayamajhi scored in the second half to take the game into penalty followed by two goalless extra halves . Although Army took lead as Tek Bahadur Budathoki scored in the first half, their dominating game turned useless as they are knocked off the tournament.

Army dominated the first half after they found some shots in target which were all claimed off the post by Bikesh Kuthu who was outstanding throughout the match, probably the man of the match. Army found the lead after several attacks in 39′ of the game making it the only goal in the first half. Although Army continued their attacking game, the attacks were not good enough to beat Nepali International Bikesh Kuthu.

Second half started in different manner as Madhyapur changed the game strategy, making themself stronger in the mid region of the field. Their strategy change worked as Legendary striker Nirajan Rayamajhi scored themselves making his second goal in the tournament. Army after the equalizer increased the attack although could not score.

The game advanced to tie breaker as both teams failed to score in two extra half. Madhyapur finally found the victory as Raju Tamang and Santosh Nepali could not convert for Army. Santosh Nepali’s shot went off the post while Raju Tamang’s attack was well saved by Kuthu confirming their place in the semi finals where they will be waiting for either Boudha or RCT.
