The 29 years old German international has been finding trouble to get a place under former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola. The midfielder who was a key part in the heart of the midfield when Bayern lifted the European glory last season has not got much of playing chance recently for the Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Philipp Lahm, meanwhile, has excelled as Guardiola’s anchor midfielder, and his form—as well as Martinez’s return to fitness following groin and ankle injuries—could make it difficult forSchweinsteiger to regain a starting place, at least in his preferred position.
This means the 29 years old could make his move out from Germany in seek of some playing times, Manchester United being one of the desired candidate alongside Barcelona.
Beside another German International Toni Kroos, United were also interested for the German International back in summer and Moyes could take a step in the ending minute of transfer window to bring the 29 years old at Old Trafford.
