There are limited sources for the private football clubs in Nepal to gatherĀ funds for running club and most of the clubs are currently struggling to balance the financial situation of the club. Among the limited sources gate money is also one. The division of the gate money doesn’t seem to be fair in some condition.
Currently there are 13 teams playing in the A Division league and three of them are departmental club. ANFA provides free passes to the club and the players to give away to their close ones. The gate money collected is distributed into five parts.
All three departmental clubs are wealthy enough to run the club but that’s not the point. You might have noticed a lot of departmental service holders from different department(Army, Police or APF) enter the field for free. Despite of this, the departmental sides are awarded with equal share of gate money which is certainly a big discrimination to the other teams.
ANFA must seriously remake the rule of the gate money, either the officers not engaged in the security of the game must not be allowed for free, or the other club also should be allocated with some free tickets, the club could decide on their own if they would sell the tickets for free or distribute it to their fans or best of all, ANFA should amend the distribution process not to make private clubs feel they are treated unfair.
