Sri Nath Collection RCT club now has 1 point on their name after a draw and a win as they started the league with negative three points as fined by ANFA for not participating in the knock out tournament, Ncell Cup.
They defeat Nepal Police club 2-0 to enjoy full three points in the match. The first half goal from Suman Lama was doubled by Bhim Darlami in the second half.
Nepal Police Club started the game in positive note with an attack coming early in the game; however they failed in final execution which they continued all long the match.
The 10th minute ball from Ajit Bhandari that found Jumanu in a one v one position was a victim from Jumanu Rai who directed his final shot above the target, missing an early one for Nepal Police Club.
Although the match started with Police’s dominance in attack, Suman Lama turned the match pouring back the pressure to Nepal Police Club as he scored in a combined display from Bhim Darlami and Amar Dangol. Bhim’s cross was controlled by Amar who let Suman take the final shot; RCT’s first shot on target changed the game as the pressure was dispensed back to Police Club.
Getting back in the 26th minute in the first half, Police club made couple of attempts to see themselves back in the game, a notable attempt came from Rabin Shrestha who tried a shot on a rebound ball, but his powerful attempt in the added time of the first half saw the goal kick instead concluding the first phase of the match 1-0.
Trailing at the end of the first half, the pressure could be felt within the cops who were unstable in their moves missing the possessions quite easily. They missed quite a few opportunities to come back in the game, the first one in the second half came in 52nd minute when Dipen Shrestha missed an open header on a corner, while Dipen’s another effort in 59th minute was well saved by Prem Tamang to keep Police trailing.
RCt got a great chance to double their lead in 64th minute when Bhim Darlami’s cross was well collected by RCT captain Shekhar Limbu, Limbu got a shooting space from inside the box, and however his final shot did not trouble Ritesh who found the shot directly on his hands.
Nepal Police Club were all miserable with a missed chance that came in 70th minute when a counter move initiated by Parbat Pandey and Rabin Shrestha failed on a final occasion. Rabin did well to cope up with Parbat Pandey and deliver a ball to Jumanu who just missed to control and send the ball to advancing Ajit who was all unmarked, a proper execution from Jumanu Rai could have given them the comeback goal.
Nepal Police Club’s hope to come back in the late minute upsurge when they got a free kick just from the edge of the box. Free Kick maestro Parbat Pandey took the shot but his kick went over the cross bar. The shot came just before Bhim Darlami sealed the victory for RCT scoring in the added time of the match to make the final score 2-0 for RCT.
