NMB Ban Machhindra FC face last minute sorrow as Komal Khawas strikes in the last minute of the extra time to send Sankata through to the semifinal.

CMG Club Sankata took the lead in the game in the initial half, Rajev Gurung sending his team ahead in the 39th minute of the game. Machhindra could utilize a rebound ball gaining the equalizer only in second half as Amar Subba placed an easy rebound ball to send the game to the extra time.

The first half of the extra time remained goalless while the second half saw something remarkable for CMG club Sankata as Komal Khawas intercepted a back pass from Machhindra’s captain Hem Gurung which confirmed Sankata’s entrance to the semis.

The semis will be played between the winners of Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marsyangdi Club and Nepal Police club which is the last quarter final match of the tournament.

NMB Machhindra Club coach Johan Kalin claimed that their team played well but lacked in defense. They improved in the second half, however an unfortunate goal costs them a goal.

Sankata’s head coach Raju Kaji Shakya claimed that the win would help them set for the league as they lack a ground with a post to train. He also disclosed his preference to play with LH MMC in the semifinals as he believes the game would improve his team, as MMC being the technical side on his eyes.
