Ganesh Khadka started instead of Yogesh Shrestha for NPC while Kiran Chemjong returned in the team for Laxmi Bank Three Star Club.

Nepal Police club controlled the possession in the starting minutes of the game, however Three Star Club produces first serious attack which came in 26th minute when they had consecutive shots denied by police club stoppers. Prakash Budathoki’s long ranger in 25 minute of the game was denied by Ritesh Thapa’s great dive to his left which kept the match quite until Jagjeet Shrestha scored on a beautiful free kick from almost 25 yards in 26th minute.

The second half started from Prakash Budathoki’s free kick from 30 yards which went inches close to the target. Nepal Police club made fewer changes to adapt themselves for a 3-5-2 formation, Ganesh Khadka was replaced by Dipen Shrestha, the strategy change worked for NPC as they found an equalizer on Jumanu Rai’s outstanding assist which Yugol Kishor placed into the net in 67th minute.

The equilizer could not work long as Three Stars snatched back the lead, Santosh Sahukhala heading on a perfect 35 yards free kick from Jagjeet Shrestha in 79th minute. Santosh Sahukhala puts his team in an stable motion as he went past Suman Subedi to make it 3-1 for Three Star club.

“My players were unable to mark the defenders, the first free kick goal, Ritesh should have punched it and second, Santosh was left unmarked. The game went fine, but my defenders must improved”, NPC coach Birat Krishna Shrestha told on a post match conference.

“The strategy worked for us, when we were drawn, I gambled. Loosing or a draw both would keep us as the group runner ups, so I gambled, replaced a defender with striker, it worked”, coach Anjan KC told.

Three Star Club are now adjudged the group winners and will face the group D runner ups, where Laxmi Hyundai MMC and Simrik Sarawati Youth Club are playing.
