Coca-Cola Nepal launches music contest to create Nepali anthem for the upcoming FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola
Band 1974 AD to collaborate with contest winner to create local anthem for Nepal
• Bands across Nepal can participate in the contest by sending their entries to IMAGE FM by 2 December 2013
• One band to collaborate with 1974 AD to voice the Nepali version of Coca-Cola Anthem -‘The World is Ours’
• 10 bands shortlisted in Round 1; 3 bands in Round 2 and finally consumers, expert panel and 1974 AD to select the winning band in Round 3
• Contest began on 23 November 2013 and final winners will be announced on December 20, 2013 on IMAGE FM
Kathmandu, 28 November 2013:Coca-Cola Nepal has launched a music contest to create a Nepali version of the official Coca-Cola anthem for the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour- ‘The World is Ours’. ‘Coca-Cola has partnered with the popular Nepali rock band 1974 AD to collaborate with the winning band and create a special Nepali version of the official anthem.
The competition began on November 23, 2013 and will culminate on December 20, 2013. Bands from across Nepal can participate in the contest by sending in their own band’s composition in a C.D. to IMAGE FM till December 2 2013.
In Round 1,1974 AD will chose the top 10 bands from all the entries and announce these names on radio. The 10 bands will be given pre-defined lyrics to create their own versions of the official Coca-Cola Anthem.
In Round 2, 1974 AD will further select the top 3bands out of the 10 shortlisted bands in creating the Nepal-version of the Coca-Cola anthem for the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour.
In Round 3, the three anthems would be aired on IMAGE FM for consumers and the public to vote. The winning anthem will be announced on 20 December 2013, based on consumers’ votes, the decision of an expert panel and 1974 AD’s inputs.

The Trophy Tour forms part of Coca-Cola’s 2014 FIFA World Cup™ campaign which invites fans to celebrate the ‘The World’s Cup’.The Coca-Cola Company in partnership with FIFA is bringing the coveted FIFA World Cup™ Trophy to Nepal on December 21, 2013. This will be the first time that the authentic, solid gold FIFA World Cup™ trophy will be arriving in Nepal.
