Nepalese U-16 coach Bal Gopal Maharjan took post match conference to display his happiness in the match against Iraq.

“This is the best moment in Nepalese Football. Coming back from two goals behind against a nation like Iraq is really meaningful ” , Maharjan told reporters in a post match conference.

“We lacked confidence in the starting of the match and my boys possessed defensive lags in first half, however the opponent goals were admirable” , coach Maharjan added.

“We changed our strategy in second half, I asked my boys to play without pressure” , coach said when asked about the advisory tips he shared with the boys.

“We are Gorkhali and we must display our Nationality. We have more 45 minutes, play with patient, play without pressure,  ” , coach Bal Gopal Maharjan told in dressing room to inspire the boys who were already 2-0 down.

“We won against teams like Bahrain and Iraq who were stronger and we hope to win Turkmenistan that remains comparatively weaker, however we are cautious and not overconfidence ” , coach spoke about the final group match against Turkmenistan.

“Boys were morally down, coach really motivated us in the dressing room during the half which gave us fighting spirit” , captain Bimal Gharti Magar said.

Nepal will play Turkmenistan Sunday in their last group match. A win means Nepal will have great possibility of making into the final round as group winners or runners , depending on the number of goals.
