Nepal Army club enters the final of ongoing Gurkha cup Tournament without conceding even a single goal after they defeat Boys Union club 3-0.
Nepal Army club first serious attack in the game gave them a goal as Raju Nepali scored in 15th minute on Raju Yogi’s blunder as Yogi allowed the ball to slip from his hand, between his legs to cross the line.
Boys Union generated quick counter attack on 28th minute when Kamal Shrestha’s run and shot from tight angle was directly placed on Ful Bahadur’s hand.
Tanka Basnet’s some efforts remained notable as his great run in 33 minutes was followed by poor shot.
Nepal Army ended up the first half with one goals lead as they went pass good goal scoring opportunity in 45th minute. Tanka Basnet fine long ranger was denied by Raju Yogi, Meche got the rebound but fired the ball out of target.
Second half started with Nepal Army’s miss as they missed couple of goal scoring opportunities. Meche was offiside on one fine chance while tanka failed to control the ball on opponent box. Similarly Meche’s powerful shot in 53 minutes got the cross bar and Raju Lama skied the ball over the cross bar on a rebound chance.
Ram Kumar Bishwas doubled the lead as Nepal Army continued their dominance in the field. Raju Tamang’s cross on 55th minute was headed by Ram Kumar Bishwas and the ball went past Boys Union defender Dev Raj Shrestha whose effort for a goal line save was not enough to keep the ball off target,
Kashi Raj missed an open opportunity as he failed to score on an empty net. Tanka Basnet managed to bet the keeper and produce a cross which Kashi Raj delivered out of near post with his left footed shot.
Naresh Meche tripled the scoreline as he scored beautifully on a one vs once chance against Raju Yogi.
Nepal Army are yet to concede a goal in their way to the finals. They will face the winner of second semifinals which will be played between LH MMC and Laxmi Bank Three Star club tomorrow at 3:10 pm.
Tanka Basnet was declared the man of the match of the game.
