Top three teams of the group directly get qualified to the world cup as Costa Rica, USA and Mexico lie respectively in first second and third position. All three teams lie with similar points, only differentiated by goal difference which means one of the team could take the lead when they play their matches.
Mexico ended ahead of Costa Rica in their group in the third round leading by 8 points. Mexico won in both the legs in the third round to grab all six points from their opponents while Costa Rica look to take their revenge.
