Boys Union Qualifies as Group D Winners while Jawalakhel are runnerups

Newly promoted side Boys Union qualifies to further rounds of the ongoing Gurkha cup as they defeat NIBL Friends club.

Boys Union defeat NIBL Friends club 1-0, thanks to Ashim Jung Karki’s fabulous first half left footed goal which remained the match decider.

The newly promoted A division outfits Boys Union were threatened with Deepak Bhusal’s corner but luckily Susan Lama’s shot gets deflected on defender.

Boys Union missed three quick goal scoring chances. Binod Lama Ghishing failed to connect header which was first Boys Union miss while Ashim Jung Karki failed to capitalize rebound on Binod Lama’s shot which struck the bar.

Ashim Jung karki took the lead in 29th minute as he utilized Santosh Tamang’s miss pass to firmly place the ball onto the target on an occasion where Ajit Prajapati had no chance to save the ball.

Friends club could have got the equalizer 7 minutes later but Segun’s header on Anil Ojha’s cross went little off target.

NIBL Friends club failed to score in different ocassion in second half as they were knocked out of the tournament as a result of narrow defeat against Boys Union club who will be facing group c runnerups RCT in the quarter finals.

Samsung Jawalakhel 3-1 Yeti Himalayan Sherpa club

Samsung Jawalakhel Youth club proceed to the quarter finals of the tournament where they will be facing group C winners Laxmi Bank Three Star club. Pradip Maharjan scored in dying minutes of either half to confirm Jawalakhel’s path to the quarter finals.

Jawalakhel got the lead in 45th minute where Pradip Maharjan scored on a corner kick.

Former NRT recruit Segun scored with an unbelievable header to equalize the score. His header confused goalkeeper Bikes Kuthu as it struck the inner post to get into the net.

Raj Kumar Poudel got the lost lead back for Jawalakhel on 66th minute as he scored with the head on fine cross from Ram Thapa Magar.

Pradip Maharjan scored and confirmed Jawalakhel’s victory in 90th minute of the game as the score remained 3-1 at the end of the match.
