Nepal Army clubs defeats Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marsyangdi club 1-0 on an interesting match played at Dasarath Rangashala, Tanka Basnet scored the sole goal.

Nepal Army club remained agressive as they played attacking football on a 1-0 win against Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marsyangdi club. The first attack came from Tanka Basnet as his long ranger from outside the box was beautifully saved by Bishal Shrestha who remained brave through out the game.

The second chance for Nepal Army came from Raju Tamang’s free kick on which Ram Kumar Bishwas’s shot went above the bar in the 19th minute of the game.

The 42nd minute action kept Army goalkeeper out of action in remaining time of the match. Anil gurung’s reaches on a ball from left flank as he tries to head the ball and the rebound of goalkeeper  Ful Bahadur reached Deepak rai. The former Machhindra attacker tries for the save as Ful Bahadur blocks the ball and catches an injury which compelled him to leave the field and seek medical attention as he was escorted to hospital with an ambulance.

The first half remained on neutral side as the teams started from the beginning as the second half whistle kicked off. Tek Bahadur Basnet failed to utilize superb Meche’s set up as he could not connect the well enough to target the frame.

Nepal Army got ahead 59th minute when Tanka Basnet delivered attractive play to find the lead. His run was followed by shot on target from difficult angle which hits the crossbar and finds the net.

MMC tried to create the momentum to return to the game but they failed to score in remaining minutes of the game. Deepak Rai’s injury time effort could have found the equilizer but his header was victim of Ganga Ram Deuja’s fine save and the final whistle ended as  1-0 Nepal Army win.

Nepal Army qualifies as the group c winners as they will face group A runner ups Nepal Police club in next round of the tournament while MMC will be playing Machhindra in the quarter finals.

Sankata and Tushal Youth club share points

CMG Sankata plays goal less draw against B division outfits Tushal Youth club. Tushal youth club who were hammered dozen of goals in their first match were able to stop  CMG Sankata on a draw.

Both CMG Sankata and Tushal Youth club were out of the tournament before their final match which ended as a goalless draw.
