Machhindra defeats Munal 2-1 while Police settle in a draw with Saraswato to qualify as group runner ups.
Munal Club missed early chance in the game as Indra Jung was unable to capitalize one on one chance in fifth minute of the game.
Munal got behind with an own goal as Captain Prem Lama score an own goal on an attempt to clear Bishal Rai’s cross as the only goal separated two team at the end of first half.
Karna Limbu who has been fabulous the entire tournament hits the woodbar as Machhindra were near to second goal.
The second goal of the match came on Karna Limbu’s effort on which substitute Sarvottam Tulhadar scored. Karna Limbu’s first shot was punched away by Min Bahadur Basnet while Sarvotttam got the rebound to score an easy goal.
The A Division district league winners could decrease the deficit in 78th minute as Dinesh Karki scored utilizing the cross from the flank but the goal was not sufficient for Munal to make the comeback.
Jumanu Rai failed to score early in the game. He dribbled pass two defenders and a goal keeper but his shot was cleared by Saraswati captain Michael.
The first half did not possess goal scoring chances as the half ended goalless.
Nepal Police club took the lead early in second half as Hem Tamanag controlled the ball from the flank and directed it right on target in 50th minute.
Jumanu Rai could have easily doubled the lead but his shot was directly straight to the goalkeeper who claimed the ball on his hands. Tanka lama found the equalizer from a rebound ball as he placed the ball with his head for a goal. Krishna Gopal’s shot stroked the top corner of the bar and Tanka Lama was in perfect position to head the ball.
Police club missed couple of chanced to take the lead as the game ended draw which was sufficient for Nepal Police club to qualify next round as group runnerups.
