The previous United midfielder trusts the Dutchman is playing four players out of position and has blamed the chief for attempting to fit “square pegs in round openings”
Paul Scholes trusts Louis van Gaal is attempting to fit “square pegs in round gaps” with his Manchester United group determination and claims Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial are all being played out of position.
United limped through to the FA Cup fourth round as a late Wayne Rooney punishment fixed a 1-0 triumph over Sheffield United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Furthermore, Scholes demands the United manager is as yet attempting to get his group adjust right.
“The huge thing for me, I see square pegs in round gaps with players in this group,” Scholes told BT Sport.
“Marouane Fellaini in light of the fact that he was a genuine modest bunch in the case, you can hit the ball up to him and he cuts it down splendidly. He’s’ playing in a focal midfield position, attempting to manage play and make. It’s not his amusement, he’s never going to have the capacity.
“Herrera, I don’t know what he is, would he say he is a No.10, would he say he is a midfield player? I don’t think Van Gaal realizes that.
“Juan Mata gets stuck on the right hand side, [he’s got] no pace to play there.
“Military, would he say he is a left winger or a middle forward? Who knows, we don’t have the foggiest idea. He gets always showed signs of change from position to position, I think there are such a variety of inquiries concerning this group.”
