Manchester United will be without Phil Jones for this match as the defender is out injured. Michale Carrick is also not fully fit so the midfielder might sit out of the match which will let Van Gaal play Ander Herrera in the midfield with new signings Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin.

Liverpool will miss services of Philippe Coutinho after the midfielder was sent off in last Premier League outing. Jon Flanagan and Joe Allen are both long term injured and Adam Lallana could be forced to start from bench. Daniel Sturrdige is nearing match fitness while Jordan Henderson is a huge doubt.
