Former England skipper and Chelsea captain John Terry has congratulated Wayne Rooney as he broke the record for most goals scored by an individual for England.

Chelsea captain John Terry congratulates Wayne Rooney on becoming England’s record goal scorer

In social media Instagram, Terry wrote words dedicated to Manchester United andĀ England skipper Wayne Rooney. Rooney, who now has 50 goals in 107 apps for the National Team broke Bobby Charlton’s record which stood forĀ about half century.

In the post, Terry has wrote that:

“Congratulations Wayne Rooney on becoming England’s top goalscorer.

I’ve had the pleasure to play alongside Wayne and for me he’s England’s best EVER. I’ve seen 1st hand him do things with the ball that I’ve never seen before.

A winner and a leader and so proud to see him wearing the armband captaining our country.

Terry and Rooney played together since Rooney’s debut. Terry even captained the side after Beckham stepped down but due to racism issue, Gerrard was handed the captaincy which led from Terry’s ommission.
