Last summer when Arsenal were desperate to sign a midfielder and made a bid to sign William Carvalho from Sporting, the Gunners’ bid was rejected stating that the transfer fee offered was too low. But now, after the arise of Francis Coquelin and player reuturning from injury, Arsenal have ended the speculation to sign the midfielder.

However, sporting have hinted that the player is available fir minimal fee as he nears the end of contract and Arsenal could be persuaded to make a bid. With Mancheter United signing Morgan Schniederlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger, there is no chance Louis Van Gaal would be pushing for the move. However, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho might be interested in the youngster as the squad lacks s new dimension as well as squad depth. William Carvalho is Portugese International who has over 20 caps already.
