Manchester United Starting Lineup vs Aston Villa: Romero starts while Depay sits wide

Louis Van Gaal is expected to deploy Memphis Depay out wide as Juan Mata plays behind Wayne Rooney in the attacking midfield.

Manchester United’s first match of the season had everything bar goals. Solid defensively, technically sound and much expected physical presence in attack. But, as the goals failed to come, Van Gaal is expected to make a slight change in the tactics. Memphis Depay looked a bit off when played in center while Mata looked lively. The left footer dutchman is expected to play in his natural left wing with Mata going inside to the center, the position which he plays best naturally.

Elsewhere, Romero will continue to play in goal with De Gea sidelined until his future is decided. Smalling and Blind will partner in center half while Matteo Darmian will be hoping for a repeat of Man of the Match performance against Tottenham. Luke Shaw will play in the left back with Schniederlin and Carrick in the middle.
