Newcastle United have completed signing of Geirginio Wijnaldum from Dutch League champions PSV Eindhoven on a 14.5 million pounds deal.
Steve Mclaren has signed his first player as Newcastle manager beating Sunderland on the race. PSV’s Georginio Wijnaldum joined Tyneside on a five year deal and will start his training from tomorrow. The 24 year old Dutch International has own 13 caps already and was one of the star in his team’s victorious league campaign. His team-mate at PSV, Memphis Depay has already made a switch to fellow Premier League club Manchester United.
The player was very happy to join the club. In an interview with press, the player said:
“I’m delighted to be a Newcastle United player, I felt the time was right for me to move and the club have shown they really want me.”
“There are a few players here who are from Holland – I know them well and they will help me feel at home at Newcastle. I cannot wait to get started.”
