Luka Modric is out injured for Croatia so Ivan Rakitic and Milan Badelj will partner up in the midfield while Mario Mandzukic will continue to lead the forward line. Ivica Olic, Mateo Kovacic and Ivan Perisic will all stray behind forward in the attacking midfield.

Italy will be without services of Marco Verratti and Daniele De Rossi which means Andrea Pirlo will partner with Claudio Marchisio and Marco Parolo in then midfield. Graziano Pelle and Simone Zaza are fighting for the starting spot up front with Bonucci and Ranocchia to play as center backs.
