Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson is set to sign a new deal with Merseyside club before the end of the season.

Liverpool are going towards the end of the season with little hopes of getting Champions League place for two years in a row. With Raheem Sterling claiming that he has rejected couple of approach from Liverpool regarding new contract, Brendan Rodgers and co are hoping to keep the youngster in their ranks for years to come. Even though Sterling rejected talks, he has vowed to sit on talks after the end of the season. On the other hand, Jordan Henderson is on the verge of signing a new long term contract with the club.

After the departure of legendary midfielder and skipper Steven Gerrard, Henderson is set to cover the role in the midfield. With skipper position vacant and Henderson also taken as one of the candidates, the English International wants to send a message to other clubs by signing a long term deal. Henderson joined Liverpool from Sunderland in 2011 and has improved a lot with the club.
