Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini could see his days with Manchester City ended after a poor season in charge.

Manuel Pellegrini could be sacked if he fails to win Manchester Derby

Manuel Pellegrini

Few weeks ago, Manchester City were closing in on table toppers Chelsea in attempt to defend their Premier League title. But poor performance in recent weeks have seen Manchester City slip up their title challenger place to a Champions League strugglers. City are standing 4th in the table behind city rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

City trail United by a point with seven games in hand and the sides are set to play each other in this weekend’s top encounter. Manchester United are in form with 5 wins out of their last five encounters while Manchester City have won just 2 of the last 4 matches. Pellegrini’s side lost 1-0 to Burnley and 2-1 to Liverpool and Burnley in recent weeks. Sergio Aguero and his attacking forces have been too inconsistent and the firepower of Wilfried Bony is also not coming into good use.
