Arsenal defender called up into Brazil squad to replace injured Luiz

Gabriel Paulista, Arsenal’s January signing from Villareal has been called up into the Brazilian squad.

Arsenal’s January signing Gabriel Paulista has been called into the national squad of Brazil to replace injured PSG duo David Luiz and Marquinhos. Brazil are playing Chile in an international friendly fixture to be played at The Emirates and in case Paulista gets the nod, he will be playing at home stadium of Arsenal. Dunga made a bold decision to call up Paulista as he is familiar to the condition and has been great for Villalreal.

Paulista, aged 24 got his first callup for Brazil and was happy with the news. He said that he will do his best and try to get into the squad everytime they play. Paulista joined from Villareal in January and has been involved in Arsenal’ first team action since Per Mertesacker’s dip in form. Paulista was used as a substitute in first few weeks in his Arsenal career.
