Sunderland have sacked Uruguayan manager Gus Poyet from all managerial duties effective from today.
Uruguyan manager Gus Poyet as been sacked as Sunderland manager after failing to win eleven games out of last twelve encounter in the Premier League. It is said that Poyet will be relieved of all the duties from today and former players Kevin Ball will take over the team temporarily. The club will take time until they appoint a permanent manager. It is rumored that dutch international Dick Advocat is considered as potential replacement.
Sunderland are currently in 17th position, just a spot ahead of relegation place with a point more than Burnley who defeated defending champions Manchester City at home. Sunderland have managed 26 points from 29 games this season and have a goal difference of -20. Sunderland are playing West Ham this weekend and will play Newcastle on tyne-wear derby once the premier league resumes after International break on 5th of April.
