Barcelona move to the top of the table after 6-1 thrashing of Rayo Vallecano

Barcelona are now at the top of the table after Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick.

Barcelona moved to the top of the table after beating Rayo Vallecano by 6-1 in a league match held at Camp Nou today. Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick while Luis Suarez scored a brace and Gerard Pique  got one for the winning team. Alberto Bueno converted the penalty in the 81st minute after Dani Alves conceded a penalty late in the match and got sent off.

Luis Suarez opened the scoring in the 5th minute of the match and got his second in the 90th minute. Gerard Pique doubled the lead in the 49th minute while Lionel Messi scored his hat-trick with goals in 56t. 63rd and 68th minute of the match. Dani  Alves was sent off in the 80th minute after he mistimed last man tackle inside the box and Alberto Bueno made no mistake with the resulting penalty. Barcelona are now one point ahead of Real Madrid in the table.
