Liverpool crashed out of the Europa League after losing out the spotkick battle against Turkish giants Besiktas on Thursday. Eight players from the first team did not make the travel and Rodgers could be in the same situation for the upcoming match against Manchester City too. Only Philippe Coutinho, who was rested after consecutive matches in the team will be available for the match against Manchester City while Jordan Henderson will be assessed prior to the kickoff to see if he is fit enough or not.

Daniel Sturridge is expected to lead the forward line with Sterling and Coutinho serving as wide forwards behind the England International striker. Dejan Lovren is expected to start from the bench with Emre Can dropping to center back to play alongside Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho.

Probable Lineup:

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Simon Mignolet

Emre Can – Martin Skrtel – Mamadou Sakho

Lazar Markovic – Jordan Henderson – Joe Allen – Alberto Moreno

Philippe Coutinho – Raheem Sterling

Daniel Sturridge
