Belgian teenager Indy Boonen has signed for Manchester United in a three year deal.
16 year old midfielder Indy Boonen has signed for Manchester United after impressing the United scouts on trial as well. The teenager was watched upon when his former side Genk played against Manchester United a couple of seasons ago and Boonen impressed the academy coaches to snap him up in a three year deal today.
The Belgian was in contact with the Manchester based outfit since last year and the club waited until this day so that the player can sign a professional contract, now that he has turned 16 years old. It was rumored that big European clubs including Arsenal, Manchester City, Feyenoord and Wolfsburg were all interested in retaining his services.
The teenager was ecstatic on completing the move and said it was a dream come true. Boonen joins the rising Belgian contingent in Old Trafford with Maroune Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj both playing for the Manchester based club.
