Aston Villa have announced Tim Sherwood as their permanent Manager replacing Paul Lambert.
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has been named as Aston Villa manager after the Englishmen signed a contract which will run till Summer of 2018. Sherwood was sacked by Spurs at the end of last season and was linked with vacant QPR job last week as well.
Sherwood was ecstatic with the appointment and was already looking forward to the challenge. Aston Villa are in the relegation zone despite an excellent start to the season. Villa have managed to score just 12 goals in 25 games they have played, which is the record lowest at this stage in the English Premier League. Paul Lambert failed to develop any attacking threat and had to see his job gone but Sherwood had brilliant attacking record the last time he was managing top premier league team.
Aston Villa chief executive Tom Fox said: “We strongly believe Tim has the qualities to get the best out of our current squad and help us build and develop for the future.Tim had a fantastic career at Tottenham, not only in his brief spell as first-team manager but, just as importantly, in the role he played in developing young talent.”
