Manager Jurgen Klinsmann has named 23-men squad for friendly against Panama and Chile to be played in few days time.
Clint Dempsey leads the 23 men squad which will be playing against Chile and Panama in upcoming International friendly for United States. Manager Jurgen Klinsmann named 23 men squad with nine names from 2014 World Cup squad included. Toronto FC’s new signing Jozy Altidore has made the cut along with Matt Besle, Michael Bradley, Mix Diskerud, Jermaine Jones, Chris Wondolowski and Nick Rimando. Tottenham Hotspur’s right back DeAndre Yedlin will also join the squad in few days.
There were 28 players in the squad that started from January 12. Six players were released from the squad and will join once the team returns back. Manager Klinsmann said that the players axed were included in camp so that they can gain some experience with the senior members as the Olympic qualifiers nears. Tesho Akindele (FC Dallas), Alex Bono (Toronto FC), Christian Dean (Vancouver Whitecaps FC), Dennis Flores (Club Leon) Julio Morales (Tepic) and Oscar Sorto (LA Galaxy), and Liverpool midfielder Marc Pelosi were axed from the squad while Brad Evans was forced to leave the squad due to tendinitis in left knee.
