Manchester United are hoping to sign back their old boy Paul Pogba from Juventus with Chelsea keeping an eye on the situation too.

Manchester United and Chelsea eye transfer swoop for Pogba from Juventus

Manchester United are set to make a transfer swoop for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. With Chelsea also interested on the french international, the italian club is expecting a bid of around sixty million pounds. However, the situation is not clear as any formal bid is yet to be tabled.

Chelsea have a better history when it comes to beating Manchester United in a transfer battle. Arjen Robben, Damien Duff, Michael Essien, John Obi Mikel all rejected Manchetser United to sign for Chelsea. Eden Hazard was also one of those players who snubbed Manchester United and chose Chelsea. Manager Jose Mourinho wants to add Paul Pogba in that list with Pogba not having good relations with his former club.

It is rumored that Chelsea will soon launch a 40 million pounds bid for the midfielder. However there is a huge possibility that a player plus cash deal might go through with Juventus interested to sign Brazilian Ramires in recent times. Ramires has found his game time limited under Mourinho and with the partnership of Matic and Fabregas flourishing, it is hard to guarantee some match time under his belt.

Pogba left Manchester United after not getting any chances to play for the senior team despite excelling in the youth team. Sir Alex Ferguson did not give him a chance but called back Paul Scholes back from retirement instead. The midfielder was left frustrated and did not sign a contract extension back then. He was sold to Juventus for less than a million and after couple of years, they are chasing him for sixty millions and still not assured of his services. This is also ranked high among Sir Alex Ferguson’s blunder in very highly coveted career.
