Tottenham Hotspur play against Sheffield United in the first leg of Capital One Cup semi final at White Hart Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino has been handed a massive boost ahead of this semi-final match against Sheffield United after Ryan Mason has been cleared to play after missing out series of match due to injury. However, his partner in defensive midfield, Nabil Bentaleb remains unavailable as he is out on international duty to represent Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations. Benjamin Stambouli might be handed a start alongside Ryan Mason. Argentine winger Erik Lamela is out injured and will not be available for this match. Lamela’s fellow countryman Federico Fazio will also sit out of this match due to injury. Romanian International defender Vlad Chricihes is also unavailable due to injury and Pochettino might pair Eric Dier and Jan Vertonghen in the middle of the defense. Nacer Chadli has flown back to his home after the tragic news about death of his father. Andros Townsend and Cristian Eriksen are likely to start on the wings with Danny Rose a possible inclusion in case Harry Kane starts up front on his own.
Craig Alcock returned from his injury last weekend and could be named in the squad for this match. New signing Chris O’Grady will not be included in the squad after the player had already played in the competition for his previous club Brighton and Hove Albion.Stefan Scougall is injured and will not play any part in this game. Ben Davies will sit out of the match action as he continues to recover from is injury problem.
