Liverpool have identified Karim Benzema as the solution for their goalscoring problems and are discussing about potential move for the Frenchmen.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema on transfer radar of Liverpool

Liverpool are looking to sign French International striker Karim Benzema from Real Madrid to solve their goal scoring crisis. With reports from Spain saying that Madrid are willing to let go the striker in order to fund the move for Paris Saint Germain’s unsettled striker Edinson Cavani, Liverpool are on the pole position to make a transfer bid.

According to the reports in Spanish media, Real Madrid are prepared to sell the striker if transfer fee of around 40 million pounds comes through. There have been news about Carlo Ancelotti and Karim Benzema falling out in the training and the coach is looking for his replacement in the market. Benzema has not been as prolific as Real would want and it is said that they are targetting a World Class striker as their top priority for next season. This would mean end of regular playing time for Benzema and a huge money move would be suitable for all the parties involved.

Liverpool approached for the striker in the summer but had their offer rebuffed after the striker signed a new contract with the Champions League holders. Carlo Ancelotti has also played Cristiano Ronaldo up top instead of Benzema and with the formation working well, the italian manager could continue to do so with the depth of squad he has. Javier Hernandez is also having limited time in the game and will be pouncing for more time under his belt.

Liverpool signed Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli this summer but both the striker have failed to impress the Red’s boss. Balotelli is yet to open his Premier League account while Lambert has found his time limited on the pitch. However, the return of Daniel Sturrdige from injury could be a huge boost for Merseyside team.
