Ozan Tufan is set to sign for Chelsea and end Manchester United’s long term interest on the midfielder.
Ozan Tufan, who plays for Turkish side Bursaspor has been attracking interest from top clubs around europe for a season now and a big move awaited him. Reports in turkish suggest that the Turkish midfielder is set to switch to premier league after Bursaspor agreed transfer fee with Chelsea.
Tufan’s father, who is also agent of the midfielder made it clear that lots of clubs around Europe have come to see watch him play in recent months. He said: “Other big European teams have sent scouts to watch Ozan play – AC Milan, Juventus, Chelsea and both Manchester clubs, City and United.”
Tufan has already won six caps for the senior team under Faith Terim after making his debut for the national side in May last year. Tufan has been consistently performing for the turkish side this season. He has scored one goal for the national team already. The 19-year old midfielder might make first team under Mourinho after the portugese manager admitted that he has a small squad to choose from. He needs some bolstering in midfield and Tufan might be the one Mourinho needs at the moment.
Mourinho also spoke about future of Mo Salah who is said to be unhappy with the role he is being used currently. Salah has hardly found a place in starting lineup with Hazard and Willian starting in most occcasions and Andre Schurrle coming in if needed. The 11 million pounds signing from Basel last January has made just six starts since his arrival and was said to be unhappy in Stamford Bridge. Besiktas were said to be interested in the signing of midfielder who as also attracted interest from Italian clubs Inter Milan and Roma but none of the clubs have made a formal bid.
