Return of Spanish defender means Glen Johnson will return to his natural right back position. Mamadou Sakho has returned to training, but it is unlikely he will be handed starting berth. Patrick Van Aanholt, on-loan Chelsea defender is out injured and will not travel to Merseyside. Emmanuele Giachherini has been out for a long time and is not looking like he will be out sooner.
