Argentina have faced Croatia in two occasions before this match and both sides have managed a victory each. These teams first met in 1998 World Cup, Argentina then won the match 1-0. The most recent meetings between the side was in 2006 when Croatia escaped with 3-2 victory. Dario Simic Scored the winning goal in the last minute of the match. Carlos Tevez and Lionel Messi scored in 5th and 6th minute of the match after Ivan Klasnic put the Europeans in front in the 4th minute. Darijo Srna scored the equaliser for Croats in 52nd minute then.

Argentina were last invovled in a friendy match about a month ago and they thrashed Hong Kong by 7-0. They are due to play Portugal next week in Manchester as the world awaits to see clash between two of the best players in the world, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Croatia beat Cyprus in recently held international friendly and they will face Italy in an all important European Qualifiers fixture in Zagreb later this week. Croatian COach Kovac has made clear that he will rest his star players in this friendly.
