ANFA announces Final Squad for Women’s SAFF Championship

Head Coach Kumar Katwal has named 20 players who will be representing Nepal in the upcoming SAFF Championship.  The competition is scheduled to be held from Novemeber 11- November 20 in Pakistan.

Namita Kumari Dali and Chandra Devi Dahal join Anjila Rai as goalkeepers in the squad while Ghim Kumari Gurung, Amrita Jaisi, Mana Maya Limbu and Menuka Giri will take the charge of defense with Punam Jarga Magar.

Dipa Rai, Yaodha Lama and Sajana Rana are joined by Bhujunga Rai and Renuka Kumari in the midfield while Anu Lama leads the attack. Sabitra Bhandari, Dipa Adhikari, Anita Basnet, Anjali Waiba, Niru Thapa and Krishna Khatri are also forwards named in the squad.

Kumar Katwal is joined by coach Darshan Bhaktaraj Lawati while Bhagwati Rana Magar will act as assistant coach. Katwal said that the players are selected on the basis of the performance in recently held Women’s League. As the tournament was dominated by departmental side, there are lots of players from Tribhuwan Army, Nepal APF and Nepal Police.
