Manchester City will be without Yaya Toure and David Silva for Manchester Derby while Manchester United have Wayne Rooney fit enough to start.
Wayne Rooney, who leads the goalscoring charts for Manchester Derby is fit enough for Manchester Derby. Rooney has scored 11 goals in 22 appearances and will be looking to lead the team as skipper for the first time in the Manchester Derby. Rooney has scored more goals at The Etihad with seven out of 11 coming at Manchester City’s home.
Rooney missed all three United’s matches played on October as he was sent off in the match against West Ham on September. Robin Van Persie captained the United side in the absence of England striker. United drew 1-1 against Chelsea recently while they beat Everton 2-1 and drew 2-2 against West Bromwich Albion.
Manuel Pellegrini on the other hand will be without Spanish International and City’s best attacking midfielder David Silva. Ivorian Midfielder Yaya Toure is also out injured and will not make it to the squad that will welcome Manchester United. Silva picked up his injury in the recent loss against Newcastle United in League Cup tie. It is feared that Silva will be out of action for about three weeks, which means he will also sit out of Manchester City’s must win Champions League tie against CSKA Moscow of Russia.
Yaya Toure is deemed unfit after he suffered yet another groin injury and was substituted midway in the League Cup tie. With injuries to Silva and Toure and Samir Naseri making his return to the pitch, Pellegrini has other choices to start as Frank Lampard and Fernando are both available along with Fernandinho. James Milner and Jesus Navas are expected to start in wide of midfield.
