ANFA Cup: Sankata beat Morang to book semifinal spot

Sankata beat Morang XI by 1-0 to book a spot in semfinals of ongoing ANFA Cup 2071.

Sankata are through to the semi-finals of ANFA Cup 2071 after beating Morang XI by 1-0. Barsta Gurung scored the lone goal for the winning team. Both the team started the match with lots of possession within them and very less hinto of attacking instinct. The defense were well organized and there was a slim chance we could see breakthrough coming in the match.

The first half looked ending on a low but a moment of brilliance from goalkeeper Kishor Giri kept the scoreline unchanged. Elvis connected to a cross from Kamal Shresthaand the header from the foreign recruit looked like going in until the goalkeeper tipped the header over the bar. Kishor was excellent all over the game until he misjudged a lofted pass early on in the second half.

Suraj Thing got his head onto the ball from midfield before Kishor, which went on the path of advancing Barsat Gurung who just had to guide the ball into unguarded post. Sankata held their lead and won the match to pave their way into the semifinals. Sankata will now face Army and the winner will have a go for the title.
