Paris Saint Germain [PSG] and Guingamp play each other in bid to win the French Super Cup.

Paris Saint Germain were League champions of French ligue 1 last term and they will play French Cup winner Guingamp in French Super Cup encounter which is also known as traditionally a french football season opener. Both the team will be trying to open the season on a high.

PSG were preparing for the start of the season with pre-season friendlies last month and they played five friendly matches. Out of the five matches they played in, they lost one against RasenBallsport Leipzig by 4-2 and won remaining four. They defeated Kitchee FC by 6-2, Videoton FC by 4-3, Hartberg by 3-0 and 2-1 against Nice.

Guingamp also played three friendlies ahead of the season opener but had disappointing result as they lost two of the three games. They lost 2-1 to Lucon and 1-0 against Brest. Their only win came against Reims as they went on to win 2-0 in that match.
